SPECIAL EDUCATION
The 13 categories to qualify students for special education were established by the U.S. Congress in the “Individuals with Disabilities Education Act” in 1975 and was updated in 2004. The list below was copied from the “Center for Parent Information and Resources” (https.www.parentcenterhub.org repo_idea) one of many organizations offering this list. The enclosed list shows the diagnoses in this website which may qualify your student for Special Education in your school. If your child has a diagnosis from this website, you might write to your school requesting a review for “Special Education Services.” If your student is significantly limited, hopefully your medical or counseling providers may help as well.
